The root of our problem is that we are operating with a political system that was originated 235 years ago when mail was still delivered by horseback.  We have short term biased politician­s who are not public servants, but self-serva­nts who are only concerned about getting re-elected­.  They enact laws that do not apply to them, vote themselves medical and retirement benefits that are far and above what medicare and SS provide to the masses.  They vote themselves pay raises every time there is an opportunit­y.  Until we as people demand that terms for senators and reps are limited to one term, and that the laws they enact will also apply to them, nothing is going to change.  Reform congress NOW!
