Anita Hill Contacted By Virginia Thomas, Clarence Thomas' Wife

The call to Anita Hill is so inappropriate considering her husband's position. Mrs. Thomas is nothing more than a right wing supporter who is as dumb as her husband.

Michele Bachmann * Minnesota's Answer to Stupid

Racist, hate monger, liar, ignorant are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of Michele Bachmann. She is a career politician, against most environmental and conservation issues,  promotes the teaching of intelligent design in schools, and lied about "death panels" in opposition to the new health care law. Her racially prejudiced rants against Muslims, the GLBT community and others is well documented. The people of the 6ht district in Minnesota deserve better. Bachmann represents the soft underbelly of humanity. She has accomplished nothing for her district or the State of Minnesota expect promoting her own hateful agenda.  For more information:

A Great American * Wally the Beer Man *

Why Pick on Wally The Beer Man?

Every time I've gone to a Twins game, I've been amazed at how hard the concessionaires work. Their cries of "Popcorn, peanuts,Cracker Jacks, get your cold beer!" is a sort of Midwestern mantra.  For me, it's like baseball and Bob Dylan...... something  that is always there. And I marvel at the fact that, at one time, those beer vendors carried beer in real glass bottles.  So, as a Minnesotan and an American, I was both astounded and embarrassed that Wally the Beer Man was recently  busted on a Target Field  sting operation for selling a beer to an underage patron [Wally the Beer Man is otta here" Oct 2 Star Tribune] I had no idea Wally posed such a threat to our country, nor did I realize that law enforcement had this kind of time on its hands.
Speaking as one who has worked and played  in the Warehouse District since 1978 and has seen that area growing increasingly more dangerous, I was astounded that the powers that be would target the dark forces fomenting within the stadium walls.  To cure crime is one thing,  to create create is another. And that is, simply, what has been done here. Wally is the Sam Mele of Suds, a living bridge from Met Stadium to the Metrodome to Target Field. As the unofficial mascot of the Twins, he has worked longer and harder on their behalf than anyone I can remember. There are enough problems in the world.  Wally isn't one of them. While I am happy that Wally is now working at Sneaky Pete's, justice has not been done.  So let's put Wally back to work at Target Field and realize there are bigger fish to fry.  The next time I hear  a vendor shout, "Cold beer here," I want it to be Wally.

More Health Care News * Part 2

The objective of the health care industry is to make money. There are only two ways this is accomplished, through exorbitant premiums and denying claims. The health care industry has excelled at both. There are more Americans in financial ruin because of the financial bullying of the health care racket than all other reasons combined. It is disgusting the Republicans, led by the religious right, would advocate repeal of the current health care law. It is unconscionable the wealthiest country in the world would allow people to be denied health care, bankrupting individuals, or allowing hard working Americans to be kicked to the curb by the for profit health care industry. The arguments against health care reform are without merit.  One argument, the common working person not being able to afford the increased taxes to fund health care premiums is ridiculous. A better analogy is the poor working person exceeding their limits of coverage or denied care and ending up bankrupt. The simple fact is our health care in this country is not up to the standards of other countries. The Republicans have consistently sandbagged any attempt to change health care. There are several ways this has been accomplished. They have used the media to misinform their constituency through lies. For example, the so called death panels, the inability to choose your own doctor, and the claim the plan will bankrupt our country. None of which are true.  These are just a few examples of Republican chicanery. What is really bankrupting our country is the previous health care system, which has brought untold misery, hardship, and financial despair to our fellow Americans.

Health Care and the Party of Stupid

OK, I just  don't get it. The new  health care regulations are the most sweeping reform benefits imaginable.  The benefits keep insurance companies accountable, lower health care cost, guarantee more health choices, and improve the quality of health care for all Americans. So why would anyone object to this? It seems the Republicans had no solution at all other than to keep the same non functioning health system in place that has bankrupted hundreds of thousands of Americans. Here is a brief review, but not all, of the benefits we can now expect:
     Cover kids with pre-existing conditions
Allow young adults to stay on their parent's plan up to age 26
Pay for preventive care such as mammograms and immunizations
Lets you choose your own doctor
Remove lifetime limits on health care
In addition, let's not forget the rebate checks for seniors in the donut hole and tax credits for small businesses. And the Republics are campaigning to repeal this? Help me, I just don't get it............
